Course details
After a short initial run on asphalt, the athletes will enter the first hilly paths, entering wooded sections that create an immersive atmosphere.
Initially, all three routes will be relatively flat, following the same path for the first 10 km. This part of the route offers the opportunity to build up speed and find your rhythm.
After passing Armaiolo, participants will reach the suggestive location of Laticastelli. From here, the road changes, with the 15K route heading towards Santa Maria, while the 50K and 30K take the Chiarne local road. Here, the races enter the heart of the route, crossing hilly dirt roads with challenging climbs and descents, which recall the atmosphere of the famous Eroica cycling race.
At the 15th km, the Ultra 50K athletes turn left and, crossing the majestic hills of the Crete Senesi, reach Asciano. From here, they head towards the suggestive medieval village of Serre di Rapolano, and then reach the Castle located in San Gimignanello.
Continuing, the athletes reach the Modanella Castle along an ancient Romanesque path, dotted with embedded stones, with a refreshment point prepared in the castle courtyard.
A few more kilometers, characterized by flat terrain and picturesque Tuscan farmhouses, will lead the athletes to the Parco dell'Acqua, the expected finish line.
As the Ultramarathon continues towards Asciano, the 30K race takes a different direction, passing through Torre a Castello, before returning towards Laticastelli, Armaiolo and the finish, completing its own unique and exciting course.
