Course ranked one of the MOST LIKELY to qualify for Boston in THE NATION!

Uniquely situated and completely surrounded by beautiful mountains, the city of Ojai holds the start of the Clif Bar Mountains 2 Beach Marathon.  This point to point race winds through the Ventura River Valley as it makes its way to the pristine beaches of the last great surf town in California, Ventura. Runners will love that 18 of the first 20 miles have a net down hill of over 700 feet, which is prime to make you faster, but not hurt the knees.  After a six mile pancake flat tour of beach front Ventura, runners and their families are treated to a finish line party only steps away from the surf and the shops and restaurants of Historic Downtown Ventura.

The course is a lightning fast, USATF certified Boston Marathon Qualifier (CA14064RS). The Marathon is limited to the first 2600 entrants

Course highlights

The course begins in Downtown Ojai with a 2 mile out and back that makes for great spectating as it heads towards mile 3 and the start of the famous Ojai Valley Bike path. From there a short loop takes runners to the highest point of the race and the only “real” hill followed by  over 10 miles of gradual downhill, before beginning a road and bike path loop near the Ventura Oceanfront. Over the 26.2 miles you will see beautiful mountain peaks, the Ventura River Basin, the gorgeous Ventura Promenade, and the world renowned Ventura Coast line.
