Join Broken Goat
Red Mountain Resort is a ski resort in western Canada, located on Granite, Grey, and Red Mountains in Rossland, a former gold mining town in the West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. The Broken Goat 50k, hosted by Red Mountain Resort, is an incredibly challenging trail running race in Rossland, BC, one of Canada’s highest cities. Runners will have beautiful 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and run on a mix of buff singletrack, technical rocky & rooty trails and some of the peaks are on true alpine routes, meaning no structured trail to follow and runners will have to make their way, choose their footing carefully and follow the flagging only. It is the responsibility of the race participant to be aware of your surroundings and of other runners, especially when running in a true mountain course.
Approximately 42km of the 50km route is on beautiful alpine singletrack with approximately 6km on Red Mountain Resort service roads. Approximately 3km of this is the ascent/descent on Granite Mtn and the remaining 5km is descending down the Red Mountain service road before linking into the newly built and incredible "Pay Dirt" singletrack trail. Runners will then descent very close to the finish line before making a final push on the trail network within Red Mountain.
