Nagoya International Women’s Marathon”, a race used to be deciding who is to participate in the Olympic and World Championship, has changed to a full marathon for 15,000 women in 2012, answering the request of marathon fans across the country. Starting and finishing at Nagoya Dome, the Marathon is known for its level course going by famous spots of Nagoya and for its easy-to-break records. Leaving aside the part of the elite race, Nagoya Women’s Marathon has a time limit of 7 hours. Even beginners can easily complete it.

Tempo massimo

7 hours cut-off time. The cut-off time is set due to traffic, security and event operation purposes. In addition to the predetermined cut-off points, the organizer may stop a runner when he or she is extremely behind in the race.


The time limit is based on the starting gun.

  • With 13,114 participants, the first Marathon in 2012 was recognized as the largest women’s marathon in the world in the "Guinness World Records". In 2015, the record was updated to 17,846 participants!
  • The Nagoya Women’s Marathon was once called Nagoya International Women’s Marathon.  It began in 1980 as an annual 20-kilometre road race held in Toyohashi, Aichi, Japan. After its first two years there, the venue changed to Nagoya for the third edition in 1982.
