The Two Rivers Marathon winds through the Bommelerwaard with 42 kilometers over the beautiful dikes of the rivers Waal and the Maas with the finish in the medieval center of the town of Zaltbommel.
Preparation for the season.
The Two Rivers Marathon is the little brother of the Two Oceans Marathon that is run in Cape Town. We will also bring the unique atmosphere of that race to the Bommelerwaard. The Two Rivers Marathon is an official qualifier for this world famous race. Held annually in the first week of February, Two Rivers Marathon is unique for its atmosphere. Friendly, personal and cozy. This is highly appreciated by the participants. The beer and braai after the finish are legendary!
Waal and Maas Rivers.
The start and finish area of the marathon is located in the beautiful city center of Zaltbommel. In between, more than 40 kilometers along the dikes along the Waal and Maas. You actually have these rivers by your side for most of the route .
