The Antwerp 10 Miles offers a course packed with enthusiastic spectators and a lot of entertainment for everyone. Some main highlights of the route are the Kennedy tunnel and the Waasland tunnel. If you are not ready to conquer the 16 km distance you can participate in a shorter 6 km race which also lets you enjoy this amazing city from a different perspective. After you take off your running shoes make sure you discover the city as a tourist because it has a lot to offer.
The AG Antwerp 10 miles is one of the most popular running events on the Belgian calendar. The race attracts over 35,000 participants and although the most popular event is the 10-mile run, there is also a short 6.8 km run, all of which go through the beautiful city of Antwerp, with thousands lining the streets to cheer the athletes on their way.
"The AG Antwerp 10 Miles remains the biggest take-part event in our city and Flanders", according to the Antwerp Councillor for Sport Ludo Van Campenhout. "Running through the Kennedy tunnel and Waasland tunnel is a unique experience for every participant. The entertainment and encouragement by supporters along the course are additional reasons for the enormous success of this running event. That is why we will continue to invest in the running sport."
"Our organisation is constantly looking for improvement and innovation", says Greg Broekmans of organizer Golazo Sports. "For instance, last year the route of the 10 Miles was adjusted and a fourth supply station was added to increase the comfort of the participants. These formulae for success are repeated for the 35th edition. In 2021, we are revamping the AG Antwerp Short Run. The new course of 6 km will take the participants all the way around the Galgenweel for the first time. The stunning view over the Antwerp skyline is promising to be an experience in itself for the participants."
