The race takes place in the magnificent Serra D'Ossa mountain range , in the municipality of Redondo , Évora district , and is widely recognized for the demanding nature of its challenging trails and its high altitude. A mountain range rich in history and legends.
The Serra D'Ossa is a place steeped in traditions, myths, and legends. It is said that, at the highest point of the mountain range, São Gens (653m altitude) , the legendary Viriato Lusitano descended to confront the Roman armies.
Inhabited since the Bronze Age, this mountain range was a refuge for shepherds and home to the first hermits of the Christian era, who shaped it and gave it its name, imbuing it with a mystical aura.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore iconic points of the mountain range, such as:
Alto do Castelo – a challenging but rewarding climb. Church of Monte Virgem – situated on a cliff, surrounded by impressive escarpments. Convent of São Paulo – one of the coolest and most pleasant places in the mountains. Orchards, springs, streams and hermit ruins – vestiges of ancient times that make the route even more special.
With breathtaking landscapes, unique aromas of the local flora, and the possibility of encounters with wildlife, this race promises to be as beautiful as it is challenging. On clear days, it's possible to see much of the Alentejo region and even Spanish Extremadura!

What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
A refund may only be requested when a participant can demonstrably prove an impediment to participate due to an accident or illness diagnosed after their registration for the event. The request must be accompanied by a medical certificate (atestado médico). The refund can only be requested up to March 8, 2026. After this date, the organization will not process refunds, even if they are associated with accidents or illnesses. The amounts to be reimbursed to participants who meet the above conditions will vary according to the date on which the refund is requested.
