100km of Namib Desert

Join 100km of Namib Desert
A desert race, but in southern Africa, far from the geo-political problems affecting other African countries: a totally safe race.
Not necessarily running in the desert means sleeping on the ground, eating lyofilized food and carrying heavy packs on your shoulders. there’s another way to experience the desert with its fascinating features: the 100 km of Namib Desert.
It’s the only 5 stars race, both for the environment of Namib Desert, the most beautiful and ancient desert in the world and for the accommodations in a fantastic 5 stars lodge.
A very demanding race, but with luxurious ‘Five Star’ accommodations that allow you to prepare and recover to face the 4 competing days, each one different from the other one.
A great atmosphere, natural beauty, fascination, but also relaxation and comforts: these are the race program ingredients, that will make a vacation of sport, nature and… Adventure

Foire Aux Questions
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Day 1(December 1): Arrival at the Avani hotel in Windhoek Day 2(December 2): 8 am departure and bus transfer to the Sossusvlei Lodge, 4 pm technical checks and BIB assignment at the lodge conference hall.
What means 10% Deposit?
The race includes a stay in a top quality lodge plus a world class race. The amount in this website is just a DEPOSIT FEE. The rest should be payed afterwards.
Are vaccinations required?
No.
What's the required equipment?
1 liter of water (minimum), mineral salts, survival blanket, lighter, whistle.
Where do I put my waste along the route?
Keep your waste with you, in your backpack or race pack, and throw it away at the refreshment points or lodge at the end of the stage.
To participate in the race, do I need a medical certificate of fitness for competition?
Italian athletes do. Foreign athletes are required to complete the form that will be sent with the registration confirmation; this must be certified and signed by their doctor.
How should I dress for the race?
It can be quite chilly in the morning, given the very early starts; so a sweatshirt before setting off can be helpful. Temperatures rise very quickly at sunrise, so shorts are fine; but be careful not to get sunburn! A T-shirt is better than a tank top, and high-SPF sunscreen is recommended for those with fair skin. A hat with a veil is highly recommended.
