The attendance is worth for different reasons – the sporting adventure, the experience of nature and culture, the healthy climate, last but not least the après-marathon.
It will be run on well-kept forest trails across a calm and romantic forest-, meadow- and pond countryside, only in the local area on tarmac. Experience pure nature and at the same time a fascinating cultural landscape. In ponds accumulated water was the power source for the water wheels of the mines of the Upper Harz Mountains (Oberharz). This unique water management system has been acknowledged as world heritage.
