Join Zion Half Marathon
Get ready for an overdose of awesome. The soaring red-and-white cliffs of Zion Canyon, one of southern Utah’s most dramatic natural wonders, rise high over the Virgin River. Hiking downriver through the Narrows or peering beyond Angels Landing after a 1400ft ascent is indeed amazing. But, for all its awe-inspiring majesty, the park also holds more delicate beauties: weeping rocks, tiny grottoes, hanging gardens and meadows of mesa-top wildflowers. Lush vegetation and low elevation give the magnificent rock formations here a whole different feel from the barren parks in the east.
With that being said, the Zion Half Marathon is the place to be!!
Runners get the chance to follow a route with awe-inspiring scenery through southwestern Utah’s canyon country at the Zion Half Marathon, which makes its annual running along a point-to-point route between the tiny towns of Virgin and Springdale, just outside St. George.
Destacable en la ruta
Our course is going to be downhill! Starting at the Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, the course will follow N Fork County Road until it hops off at mile 5, at which point we’ll switch to a dirt road. We’ll cross highway 9 at about mile 7, and then head west towards the park. The last few miles will be on trail following the main road. We’ll finish at the east entrance with amazing views of Zion.
