The EDP Lisbon Marathon is an official race of the International Athletics Federation (IAAF) calendar and it’s becoming a top international race, attracting the top elite athletes and thousands of foreign runners from all over the world.
Half Marathon
The Hyundai Half Marathon is one of the most popular races in Portugal, with over 10.000 runners. Starting at the Vasco da Gama Bridge, it ends at Praça do Comércio together with the EDP Lisbon Marathon.
The 21km course, takes the Hyundai Half Marathon runners from the north area of the city to downtown Lisbon, crossing emblematic historical monuments and riverside views.
The EDP 8K
is one of the most popular races in Portugal, its departure is at the famous Vasco da Gama bridge and the finish line is at the Parque das Nações.
The departure is at the same time and location as the Hyundai Half Marathon and allows its participants to have a beautiful view along the course.
EDP 8K is a popular race, with a short distance and lots of animations and funny runners participating.
You may walk or run in this amazing course with unique views of Tejo river and Lisbon historical sites.

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
The delivery of the participation kitbags (bib number and official t-shirt) will take place on Thursday, and Friday, on the 8th, and the 9th of October, from 10:00 AM to 20:00 PM, at the Sport Expo, localed at FIL (Feira Internacional de Lisbona), in the EXPO area, in Lisbon.
Can someone collect my race pack for me?
The athletes can nominate someone to collect their BIB. The nominee needs to present the registration document from the registered runner.
How do I get to the race location?
To access the start, located on the N6-7 road, in Carcavelos in front of the Nova Business School of Economics. Closer to the date of the race, the organization will share all the information about access to the start . Participants, presenting their participation number, will be able to use the following transport free of charge: Lisbon Metro, Carris, CP Lisbon trains and Sintra, Cascais, Azambuja and Sado lines (for long-distance CP journeys, participants will have a 30% discount upon presentation of their number). Free transport is valid from the opening until 5:00 pm on the day of the race.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
Attention: registrations are personal and non-transferable. They cannot be transferred to another person or to another edition. Only in exceptional cases, such as duly proven illness, injury, or pregnancy, can the registration be transferred to the following edition.
Cut-off times
EDP Lisbon Marathon - 6 hours, so as of 2:30pm normal road circulation will be restored. HYUNDAI Half Marathon - 3 hours, so from that moment on, normal road circulation will be restored.
How do I access the Luso Half Marathon and the EDP 8K Start Area?
Access to the start line on the Vasco da Gama Bridge is only possible via the buses provided by the organization. There is no other way to reach the start. The buses provided by the organization will operate from 6:30 am to 7:30 am, departing from Gare do Oriente, next to the Vasco da Gama Shopping Center. Closer to the race date, the promoter will share transport schedules and more detailed information.
Is there a place to keep the EDP Lisbon Marathon athletes' equipment?
Yes, there will be equipment collection at the start area and transportation to the finish line area. The equipment can only be delivered in the bag provided by the organization, at SPORT EXPO.
