Join SwissCityMarathon – Lucerne 2021
The Swiss City Marathon - Lucerne takes you along the beautiful Lake Lucerne surrounded by the potentially snowcapped mountains. The nature is enormously lush and the route to the finish line will lead you through the medieval city of Lucerne, a truly magical experience!
This annual experience takes place on the last Sunday in October. The route leads from the Museum of Transport along Lake Lucerne, around the Horw peninsula, through the football stadium of FC Lucerne, back in the city of Lucerne, through the KKL Lucerne and the old town back to the finish in the Museum of Transport. The next SwissCityMarathon.

There are various hotels in Lucerne that are located next to the race course.
After Race Services
The infrastructure is near to the start and finish area. The changing rooms and showers are located in the Sportcenter Würzenbach (Kreuzbuchstrasse 42, 6006 Lucerne) for women. For men it is located at the School Würzenbach (Kreuzbuchstrasse 60, 6006 Lucerne) - only 100m away from the Sportcenter Würzenbach.
A start at the marathon is possible from the age of 18. A start at the half marathon is possible from the age of 16.
There will be enough food and water stations along the course. The concept is coordinated with our medical and nutrition partner.
Medals for marathon runners are included. Half-marathon and 10k add a medal as an add-on in checkout.
At the male and female changing rooms, there are guarded custody services for valuables such as wallet, smartphone, etc. Bags or clothes will not be accepted. The chaning rooms are not guarded.
Closing time is 12.15pm for Halfmarathon and 3.00 pm for Marathon.
The organizers do not offer parking spaces for private vehicles. Runners can travel free of charge from the Swiss Boarder to Lucerne and back again!

Various nutrition places along the course
The chip for the time measurement is integrated in your bib. The time chip don't have to be returned at the end of the race.
All participants benefit from free public transport from within Switzerland, the airport or the Swiss border to Lucerne and back.
If the SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne 2021 has to be cancelled by the organiser, your registration fee is not lost. We guarantee you the transfer of the starting place to 2022 (same distance) or refund of the registration fee minus CHF 10 handling fee.
