You will get to run from the Malaysian peninsula to the island of Penang on a course free of traffic. Since its inception in 1985 the PBIM created a well known brand. This is mainly due to a carnival-like, fun atmosphere during the Penang Marathon. It showcases the colours, sights and flavours of Penang. Both the marathon and the half-marathon start in the middle of the night and you will most likely finish before sunrise. The Penang Bridge International Marathon is held annually on the Penang Bridge, the iconic bridge that connects the Malaysian Peninsular to the island of Penang since 1985. The marathon is well known for its fun, carnival-like atmosphere, showcasing the colors, sights and taste of Penang. The marathon is Penang's most anticipated sporting event and has the full support of the State Government of Penang.
