The Swiss City Marathon - Lucerne takes you along the beautiful Lake Lucerne surrounded by the potentially snowcapped mountains. The nature is enormously lush and the route to the finish line will lead you through the medieval city of Lucerne, a truly magical experience!
This annual experience takes place on the last Sunday in October. The route leads from the Museum of Transport along Lake Lucerne, around the Horw peninsula, through the football stadium of FC Lucerne, back in the city of Lucerne, through the KKL Lucerne and the old town back to the finish in the Museum of Transport.

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Pick up your bib number and runner shirt at the Runner Expo (Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern (Schweizerhofquai 2, 6002 Lucerne) - 5-minute walk from Lucerne train station) on Friday or Saturday. Participants living abroad can pick up their race number on Sunday morning at the Swiss Museum of Transport (only upon presentation of the starter guide and ID) at the Trouble Desk. Opening hours : 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Can someone collect my race pack for me?
Race numbers do not have to be collected personally. The race number will be given to you at the race number distribution upon presentation of the registration/payment confirmation or the start card, which will be sent to you by e-mail mid-October.
How do I get to the race location?
It is strongly recommended that you travel to the SwissCityMarathon by public transport. Thanks to the SwissRunners ticket, runners can travel: inside Switzerland, free to Lucerne and back again after the run!
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
Distance Upgrade: - only while starting places are available any difference to the entry fee valid on the day of the upgrade must be paid. DIstance Downgrade: - only while starting places are available no refund of the difference.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
Non-refundable.
When and what are the awards ceremonies?
At the official awards ceremonies on stage , the overall winners (from the performance slot) of the three categories will be honored. All prizes for the category winners of each age group will be sent by mail after the event . Which roads are closed on event Sunday?
No roads will be closed in the lead-up to the SwissCityMarathon – Lucerne (Friday/Saturday). On Sunday, numerous roads in Lucerne, Horw, Hergiswil, Stansstad, and Alpnach will be closed.
