About Hells Hills Trail Run

Rocky Hill Ranch Trail is a loop trail located near Smithville, TX that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. This is also the location of the annual Hells Hills Endurance Run.

This event hosts a deceivingly tough course, at a really easy to get to venue. With 3 loops for the  50mile courses. If you’re fast, come test yourself against the best trail runners in the country. If you are looking for your first trail run or to go further than ever before, come out and enjoy this beautiful course with stream crossings, pine trees, hill country flowers, and a whole lot of fun passionate folks waiting to help you reach your goal. For many, this long-standing event has become an annual occurrence that has really become a reunion of friends.

There is ample amount of camping onsite at Rocky Hill Ranch.

Aid Stations

The aid stations begin with all the basics: water, sodas, Tailwind, gels, salted items in pretzels and chips, sugars in candies, plus cookies, and pb&j sandwiches. Also, we usually find some fresh fruits such as oranges, bananas, and melons. Not all aid stations will have the same foods.

Award Medals

Awards given to: 1st -through-5th finishers, Masters– 1st -through-3rd finishers (50+).

Equipment Storage

You can set up your own Drop Bags at the Saloon Only. We do not haul anything. You set it up and you haul it off.

This 50 mile course is a 16.67mi loop, repeated thrice. Starts & finishes at the Saloon. First 1 mile is pretty hilly, but settles into a constant slightly rolling single-track that twists a lot. The last mile is very similar to the first mile.
