Overview

Runners start the half marathon and half marathon relay in downtown Jonesboro near the intersection of James Street and Neville Street, in front of the Southwest Church of Christ.

From there, runners and walkers head out on an out-and-back loop course, which after a couple of early turns takes runners south on a two-mile-long straightaway stretch down Main Street, until it turns into Southwest Drive.

The early miles feature gradual uphills and downhills, followed by a right turn onto Alexander Drive, which brings runners back north again toward the western side of the city and into the residential neighborhoods there, where runners will make their way along the edges of Temple of Israel Cemetery and Woodlawn Cemetery.

The first few miles are marked by rolling hills, and the course then flattens out in the middle portion of the race, between miles 5 through 7 around the cemetery grounds.
