10ª Shamir Corrida Portucale

Join 10ª Shamir Corrida Portucale 2025
The SHAMIR CORRIDA PORTUCALE brings runners to the scenic riverside of Vila Nova de Gaia. Organized by the Porto Athletics Center (CAP), this event offers participants the chance to experience the stunning beauty of Porto and its neighboring municipality, Vila Nova de Gaia. Alongside the main race, there is a 5k distance available for those who prefer to walk.
Rosa Mota, a Portuguese Olympic and World Marathon champion, is the proud Godmother of the race. Renowned as one of the greatest runners of the 20th century, her legacy inspires participants to embrace the spirit of this event. The race's name, "Portucale," pays homage to the ancient town and port, Portus Cale, which influenced the name of the country Portugal.
Porto is a city rich in history and charm, easily accessible by flights from major European airports. In summer, Porto is a vibrant destination with sunny weather, cobblestoned streets, and incredible food, including local delicacies like seafood and the iconic francesinha. After the race, consider exploring the picturesque coastal towns to the north, staying in cozy accommodations, and enjoying Portugal's warm hospitality and breathtaking natural landscapes.
