The Barcelona Marathon is a 42,195 km running race which is becoming a popular classic on the international marathon calendar. It has been run since 1977 on a flat and scenic route through some beautiful parts of Barcelona.Barcelona city plays host to an annual marathon that sees the city inundated with runners from all over the world. Barcelona Marathon is fast approaching and if you plan on competing you will need to think about registering soon. 

Once you've sent off that application, there's no turning back and you will need to get started on your training.There will be 41 animation points all along the route of the race, addressed to the spectators, several ludic activities so that the public cheers on in a festive way the participants of the test, and enjoys the maximum possible the athletic journey.

Practicalities

Aid Stations

From 5 km on, there will be refreshment stations for participants every 2,5 kilometres during the marathon. These refreshment stations will offer participants water, isotonic drinks, fruit, sponges and Vaseline. Three refreshment stations will provide gels as well.

Maximum Time

Time limit for the marathon is 6 hours.

Overview

The Barcelona Marathon is well-organized with a route entirely in Barcelona city with water points lining the route, massage service and showers. The route for Barcelona Marathon begins at Avenida de La Reina Maria Cristina and leads out to Plaza Espanya. You then wind around a 25 mile circuit of Barcelona which have some of the great monuments en route. You will (hopefully) return at the same point as you left.
