Join Vietnam Mountain Marathon
Organised since 2013, Vietnam Mountain Marathon is the result of a deep love of trail running and the hills of Sapa. We have grown to become one of the most prestigious trail races in Asia, warmly welcoming over 4,000 runners from up to 50 countries.
Centred around Sapa, our race takes runners high into beautiful mountains, through bamboo forests and deep into rice terraced valleys where water buffalo roam.
The course passes through many small villages of various ethnic groups who welcome runners with smiles and waves.

A great introduction to mountain running which now finishes at the famous Topas Ecolodge VMM finish line with all other distances!
21 km
This Half Mountain Marathon is highly rewarding, starting off with a great climb out of Sapa which gives incredible views from the top. You will see beautiful valleys, local ethnic villages, forests and high mountain views.
50 km
A hard but stunning 50km for the experienced runner who is looking for a tough challenge. The trails will lead you off the beaten track to areas which are rarely visited by anyone but locals.
70 km
The VMM 70km ultra trail has become a classic on the trail running calendar. Expect huge variety and incredible scenery.
100 km
This is an extremely challenging 100km ultra-marathon that covers every type of terrain the Sapa area has to offer.

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
19/09/2025 (Friday) 09:00 - 21:00 At Sapa Park (next to Sapa Square) - You must personally pick up your own race kit using your own identification.
Can someone collect my race pack for me?
No. All runners must pick up the race kit yourselves.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
- To change distances, a VND 500,000 (~USD 20) administration fee must be paid. No change of distance after 19/08/2025 or sold out. No refunds are available if changing to a shorter distance.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
- Full refund: You can get a refund of the total payment minus VND 1,250,000 (~USD 50) administration fee if you advise us and confirm by email by 19/06/2025. - 50% refund: You can get 50% refund of the total payment if you advise us and confirm by email between 20/06/2025 and 19/08/2025. For total payment less than VND 2,500,000 (~USD 100), you can get a full refund of the total payment minus VND 1,250,000 (~USD 50) administration fee. - No refund: No monetary refund if you advise us after 19/08/2025 or do not show up at the race.
