Join Mezza Maratona della Città di Torino
The industrial city of Torino, every year, comes alive in the summer as the Turin Half Marathon brings thousands of runners from all over the world, to run through the beautiful streets of the city. The race is one of the more popular events in Italy, although not as popular as the running events in Rome, but is definitely climbing up the popularity-ladder with time.
The city of Torino is one of the biggest sporting hubs in the country and with the addition of this, the Turin Half Marathon, the city has developed a character that goes beyond mere team-sports and gives amateurs and professionals a chance to run through the city-streets in a bid for ultimate half-marathon glory. Most of the route is paved and there are some bits that are unpaved as well, but the majority of the course is quite smooth and the odd-bits do not require any special footwear either.
Course highlights
The Turin Half Marathon begins at the Medieval Village, in Torino, and runs in a 21.1km loop that ends at the same place. The route runs through Corso Lecce, and then moves onto Via Giovanni Servars, going past the Via Pietro Cossa and heading towards Corso Marche. The athletes then head onto Vale Certosa and go into a complicated turn-filled route around Collegno, before heading back out, over and across the Dora Riparia river and onto the Var SS 24, that takes them to Via Pianezza, and all the way back to the finish line at Medieval Village.Mappa del percorso
