Join The hoag Orange County Marathon Running Festival 2026
The Hoag OC Marathon Running Festival is one of Orange County’s signature athletic events, featuring four exciting races held annually during the first weekend of May.
The celebration begins on Saturday morning at the OC Fair and Event Center with the award-winning Hoag Kids Run the OC, where nearly 9,000 young runners from over 150 local schools take part in an energetic kickoff to the weekend.
In the afternoon, the venue transforms for the Celebrate OC Festival, showcasing local sports teams, craft breweries, live music, and some of Orange County’s most iconic brands. Later that day, runners take on the OC 5K, a fun and fast route through the OC Fairgrounds and Orange Coast College, followed by the Celebrate OC Finish Festival.
Sunday morning starts early in Newport Beach, where participants line up for the OC Marathon and Half Marathon—a course that perfectly captures the spirit of Orange County. Runners enjoy breathtaking ocean views, historic stretches of PCH, and the charm of Corona del Mar’s seaside village. The route continues past Upper Newport’s pristine wetlands, through the Arts District and South Coast Plaza, known as the “Heart of the OC.”
The weekend concludes with an unforgettable Finish Festival back at the OC Fair and Event Center—complete with music, celebration, and the cheers of the local community.

Domande Frequenti
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Each event participant must attend the OC Lifestyle and Fitness Expo on either Friday, May 1, 2026 between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. or Saturday, May 2, 2026 between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and show their identification to pick up their race bib and t-shirt. NO SUNDAY race day bib pickup for the half or full marathon.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
Yes
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
Entry fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Can walkers register for the marathon, half-marathon and 5K?
The course is absolutely walker friendly! While there is not a strict time limit to finish, we do have a stated “official” time of 3.5 hours for the half and 7:00 for the full. This is a 16:00 per mile pace. This “official” time is so that our police and public safety officials can begin to reopen portions of the course as well as allow our volunteer water stations to begin breaking down. We have a “balloon lady” at the back of both the full and half marathons walking at the 16:00 per mile pace, signifying to the PD that certain intersections or roads can reopen. Walkers that fall behind may be asked to utilize sidewalks and intersection walkways as any normal pedestrian. We provide turn-by-turn instructions and a bottle of water to those that request. No matter how long it may take you, we will be at the finish line for you and you will get your medal. The 5K does not have a time limit.
