Join Nan Mountain Trail 2026

Nan Mountain Trail carves its way through the steep, wild terrain of Khun Sathan National Park — a raw, uncompromising mountain-running experience across every distance. The course blends savage climbs, exposed ridgelines, and sweeping cloud-sea panoramas, creating a route that is both brutally demanding and undeniably beautiful.

Runners tackle iconic sections like Pha Phueng and Doi Thong, quiet but punishing ridges known for their relentless gradients and deep, layered mountain views. Every distance is purpose-built — from approachable routes for new trail runners to full alpine-style battles for seasoned mountain athletes — supported by enhanced night-running safety and thoughtful course design.

This race has earned its reputation as one of the toughest trail events in Thailand, and the crown jewel is NMT100, boasting an extraordinary 6,900 meters of elevation gain — the highest of any 100 km race in the country.

If you’ve finished a 100 km race before —but you’ve never run here—
you haven’t met the true standard of what a “human 100” really is. Nan Mountain Trail delivers a pre-race vibe full of anticipation, and a warm, humble finish-line atmosphere that reflects Nan’s mountain spirit — rugged, serene, and unforgettable.

Nan Mountain Trail 2026 Race Character & Course Identity 🖤 NMT100 — 100.8 km | 6,920 m+ THE HUMAN 100 — The Legendary Beast of Nan The toughest category in the event and one of the hardest 100 km races in Thailand. With nearly 7,000 meters of climbing, NMT100 throws relentless gradients, long exposed ridgelines, and technical mountain terrain at you from start to finish. Key sections include the iconic Pha Phueng and Pha Tang, offering raw climbs and sweeping 360° sea-of-cloud views. This is a full-body, full-mind, full-heart challenge — a true exam of endurance, strategy, and spirit. If you’ve finished other 100Ks but haven’t run Nan, you haven’t met the real “Human 100” yet. ❤️ NMT60 — 62.5 km | 4,130 m+ THE SIGNATURE CLIMBS — Steep, Demanding, Pure NMT Perfect for runners who want a brutal challenge without committing to the 100K. With over 4,100 m+ of elevation, NMT60 delivers climbs and descents that rival many 80–100K courses elsewhere. Expect continuous elevation shifts, technical ridges, and breathtaking mountain views that define Khun Sathan. A prime step-up for athletes aiming toward NMT100. 💚 NMT30 — 31.4 km | 2,240 m+ THE RIDGELINE EXPERIENCE — Short, Sharp, and Fully Alpine Don’t be fooled by the distance. With 2,240 m+ of climbing, NMT30 offers a fierce mid-distance mountain test. From early ridge approaches to sustained climbs and panoramic viewpoints, this course shows what Nan’s mountains are all about. Ideal for runners who’ve mastered 20K and want to ascend into true mountain territory. 🟠 NMT20 — 19.7 km | 1,540 m+ THE FIRST MOUNTAIN — A Fast Route Into Real Elevation Compact but steep, with 1,540 m+ of gain packed into under 20 km. NMT20 introduces athletes to the signature punchy climbs and quiet ridges of Nan, offering a full mountain experience in a shorter format. A perfect entry for new trail runners or road runners ready to shift into real elevation. 🔵 NMT9 — 9 km | 714 m+ THE STARTER RIDGE — The Hardest 9K You’ve Ever Loved A short course with serious bite: 714 m+ of climbing over just 9 km. Expect steep early climbs, narrow ridges, and fast technical descents — all packed with stunning views. Great for first-timers who want an authentic mountain taste, and for speed-focused runners who thrive on explosive climbs.
