Flagstaff Sky Peaks

In breve

Distanza Ultramaratona

Informazioni Flagstaff Sky Peaks

Flagstaff’s most popular urban trail makes a 2-mile loop around Buffalo Park, an expansive open space on the flat top of McMillan Mesa, an ancient lava flow. Most of the trail is on open, native grassland, but just to the west of the park entrance the trail dips into a wooded ravine. The trail provides a magnificent panorama to the mountains north of town and is also the starting point of The Flagstaff 55K Sky Race.

The Flagstaff 55K Sky Race features a point to point course on mostly single track trails through ponderosa pine forests, aspen groves, a climb to the top of Mount Elden, a traverse below the San Francisco Peaks (Arizona’s highest mountain range) and a climb to the top of the Arizona Snowbowl Ski Resort. As part of the US Skyrunner Ultra Series, this race features high altitude running and over 10,000 feet of climbing.
