Join RBC Brooklyn Half

Passionate runners, small business owners, artists, makers, and hosts: there’s no community quite as diverse yet tightly knit as the one found in Brooklyn. Leading up to the Airbnb Brooklyn Half Marathon, we’ll be celebrating the people, places, and colorful experiences to be found ALL IN Brooklyn.

Our hosts help guests find the most authentic, beloved local gems in their area, and Brooklyn is no different. To celebrate their favorite BK places, we’ve put together a few pedestrian-friendly routes  to explore the best of BK. Use these maps as a marathon warm-up… or celebratory cool-down.

To celebrate Brooklyn’s rich and diverse community, we are hosting three days of events leading up to race day. Come out to Pier 2 at Brooklyn Bridge Park to experience the best of the borough through tastings, art installations, demonstrations… even mini golf!

Start near the Brooklyn Museum and run past the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and around Grand Army Plaza before entering Prospect Park. After a loop around the park, exit from the southwest corner onto Ocean Parkway and cruise toward world-famous Coney Island for a triumphant finish on the boardwalk.

Course highlights

From the starting line along Eastern Parkway, runners first head south along Washington Avenue and then onto Ocean Avenue and Parkside Avenue, which hugs the southern end of Prospect Park. Once they make their way into the park, they’ll pass by the zoo and carousel as well as several baseball fields, and past the edges of the lake on both loops around the park. Once they’ve passed the mile 7 marker, the course then heads out of the park and onto Ocean Parkway. The next stretch of the race features a long, straightaway run down Ocean Parkway in the direction of Coney Island, which will unfold over most of the second half of the course — about the next five miles. Runners will known they’re close to the finish line once they make the right turn onto Surf Avenue and then a left onto the Coney Island boardwalk, which they’ll run along for just under a mile and then cross the finish line in front of MCU Park.
