Here’s the thing about Milwaukee: it’s cool, but most people don’t think of it when deciding where to book a weekend getaway. It’s often edged out by Chicago or New York, but Milwaukee is well worth a spot on your travel itinerary. The city’s reputation as a working man’s town of brewskis, bowling alleys and polka halls still persists. But attractions like the Calatrava-designed art museum, bad-ass Harley-Davidson Museum and stylish eating and shopping enclaves have turned Wisconsin’s largest city into an unassumingly cool place. In summertime, festivals let loose with revelry by the lake almost every weekend. And where else on the planet will you see racing sausages? With that being said, Milwaukee’s Brewers Mini Marathon is the place to be.

WELCOME TO THE BREWERS MINI-MARATHON!!

We have a fantastic race planned for you, complete with amazing courses and an awesome post-race tailgate party!

Ever wanted to have the chance to run on a major league baseball field? The Brewers Mini Marathon is a half marathon that allows runners a chance to circle the track around the ball field at Miller Park, the home of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Course highlights

The loop course begins and ends on the Miller Park Plaza in front of the home plate gate. Runners start their first mile along Frederick Miller Way, named for the founder of the Miller Brewing Company, and whose name is found all over a city proud to have this man as part of its story.

Runners next continue onto West Canal Street and then cross over the Menomonee River before taking a right turn onto South 6th Street, then making a turnaround at a traffic circle about half a mile down the road. After making the turnaround, runners keep going north onto North 6th Street with only a small detour to pass to Harley-Davidson Museum. This section of the course sees runners across the Menomonee River three times in this brief route alone.

A left onto West Michigan Street leads runners past Marquette University and toward the 6th mile just before turning left onto North 27th Street, continuing south all the way past mile 6. They make a left turn on Highway 59 and loop back on South 35th Street. Along the way they’ll be able to spot the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory domes from the course. Inside the three domes are a variety of distinct climates that house a number of unusual and exotic plant species.

There’s no time for beer (yet), but runners will get a glimpse of Miller Valley past the 9th mile marker, where free tours are offered at the second largest brewing company in America.

Mile marker 11 is located near where runners make a turn onto West Wells Street. The course heads due east for less than a mile before taking a right turn onto North 44th Street.

But the race isn’t over until you take a lap around the warning track inside Miller Park, all the way from the 3rd base side to the 1st base side, and past right field, where you’ll exit the ballpark and head into the finish chute.
