Big Island International Marathon

Big Island International Marathon invites runners to be part of a beautiful race that follows the coast of Old Hawaii.

The lush, verdant, tree-lined hills and brilliant blue waters along the coastline of Onomea Bay and Hilo Bay form the beautifully scenic backdrop for Hawaii’s Big Island International Marathon. Run through the paradise-like hills along the highway overlooking the bays that open out into the vast open waters of the Pacific Ocean. This race features some of the most beautiful natural scenery runners are likely to encounter at any major race anywhere in the world.

Run alongside historic roads with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, scenic waterfalls, lush tropical forests and expansive sugarcane fields. Hilo boasts beautiful green landscapes thanks to its cooler climate and regular rainfall. Racers will have the refreshing morning drizzle of rain as they embark of the path to completing their run.
