Athhalf - Athens, Georgia Half Marathon

A beery, artsy and laid-back college town roughly 70 miles east of Atlanta, Athens has an extremely popular football team (the University of Georgia Bulldogs), a world-famous music scene (which has launched artists including the B-52s, R.E.M. and Widespread Panic) and a burgeoning restaurant culture. The university drives the culture of Athens and ensures an ever-replenishing supply of young bar-hoppers and concert-goers, some of whom stick around long after graduation and become ‘townies.’ The pleasant, walkable downtown offers a plethora of funky choices for eating, drinking and shopping.

With that being said, the Athens, Georgia Half Marathon is the place to be!!

AthHalf packs all that Athens has to offer all in one exciting half marathon course, including a run through UGA’s iconic Sanford Stadium, Athens’ historic districts, and live music from local Athens bands! And it’s all to help raise money to support music and arts education for K – 8 youth.

AthHalf is produced annually by the nonprofit organization, AthFest Educates, supporting its mission of funding high-quality music and arts programming for youth. When you run the AthHalf, you are directly impacting a child’s access to music and the arts. Thank you!
