The Almaty Marathon (Kazakh: Алматы марафоны) is an annual charitable event. The course of the Almaty Half Marathon is one loop with very little flat terrain. Most of the time you will be either running uphill or downhill with around 200 meters of elevation difference. The full marathon course covers the same loop twice. Once you are done running you can climb even more hills because there are many amazing hiking trails just outside the city. Make sure you visit the Big Almaty Lake for a stunning photo and great memories. The organizers of Almaty Marathon help promote a healthy lifestyle amongst the citizens and are involved in many projects including construction of sports infrastructure in boarding schools, nursery gardens and purchase of medical equipment.
The Almaty Marathon (Kazakh: Алматы марафоны) is an annual marathon race held in either April in the Central Asian city of Almaty, Kazakhstan. The first edition of the race, in 2012, had 2500 total participants; that grew to more than 17,000 from over 53 countries. The Almaty Marathon aims to continue working towards attaining the level of renowned marathons like those held in New York, Amsterdam and other cities The Almaty Marathon Courage to Be the First (hereinafter referred to as the Marathon) is aimed at the following:
Promoting the healthy life-style and encouraging people to take exercises and go in for sports;Developing mass sports;Supporting young and talented sportsmen who are the future of the Kazakh sports;Popularizing social responsibility of people and large companies to their own city and its environment;Supporting charity projects of republican significance.
The one of goals of the marathon is to raise funds for charities in Kazakhstan.
