ULTRA LA ISLA is Mexico's most challenging ultra-endurance event, where elite athletes face the extreme conditions of Cozumel, Quintana Roo. Three days of absolute testing against northeast winds, strong ocean currents, and Caribbean humidity. Ultra La Isla 520k Ultraman format Triathlon Mexico that is held in Cozumel one of the largest and most populated islands of Mexico, a Caribbean paradise on the coast of the State of Quintana Roo in the Riviera Maya strip.
Experience the ULTRA challenge in one of the most beautiful destinations in the Mexican Caribbean. Cozumel awaits you with its crystal-clear waters, scenic roads, and the challenge of a lifetime.
Self-supplied format with crew support. Prepare to push your limits in paradise.
Course details
Distances: 10K swimming (on a reef with strong currents) + 425K cycling (with winds of 15-40 km/h) + 85K running (two marathons under a heat index of 42°C). Key Challenge: The 270K cycling stage on Day 2 is critical due to the headwind on the southern section. Hydration and a support team (Crew mandatory) are vital.
Ultra 315k : This is an innovative, ultra-strength, two-day format.
Distances: 5K Swim + 155K Bike (no draft allowed) + 105K Bike (with draft allowed) + 50K Run. Key Challenge: The initial non-draft cycling stage demands pure individual power, while the final 50K run requires a solid hydration strategy.
Aquabike 165k : A technical challenge focused on the first two disciplines.
Distances: Swimming 10K (same level of difficulty as the 520K) + Cycling 155K (Flat long-distance circuit). Key Challenge: Energy management in the 10K swim and wind resistance on the bike are the determining factors.
