Lagoa Swimrun

In May the #swimrun will comeback to the magnificent coast of the Algarve for the 4 edition of Lagoa Swimrun. In just 2 years, it was elected by all #swimrunners as one of our best courses, with fantastic swims and stunning views all around along the coast that proved to be very demanding depending on the wind and weather.

Starting at the "Ermida da Senhora da Rocha", the athletes will initially run along the Seven Hanging Valleys route, recently elected as the best hiking destination in Europe, with a breathtaking scenery. Towards the end, they will pass through Caminho dos Promontórios route, and finish at the picturesque fishing village of Ferragudo.

Throughout the course, the athletes will see numerous cliffs and rock formations carved in the most varied shapes. They can even explore a handful of heavenly beaches and caves, some of which are only reachable by sea, as is the case of the Benagil Cave, or tunnels excavated by means of impressive pit caves (natural pits that connect the surface of limestone regions and  underground galleries), as is the case of Carvalho Beach. This journey also includes a mandatory passage through the iconic Caneiros Beach, the benchmark picture of the Algarve.

Apart from the summer floods, this will be, once more, an unique opportunity for everyone to discover and run this beautiful course, with the spring in bloom and an average water temperature of 18 degrees.
