Join Great Breweries Marathon
On Sunday 8 May, the long awaited fifth edition of the Great Breweries Marathon will take place. Duvel Moortgat, Bosteels Brewery and Palm & De Hoorn Brewery are once again combining forces to serve up a fantastic parcours and delicious beers to runners and walkers. You can now sign up.
In an ideal world, the fifth edition of the Great Breweries Marathon should have been held back in 2020. In 2021, the corona pandemic was once again a spoilsport, but this year it should be all go with the fifth edition of the Great Breweries Marathon.
The ingredients of this unique experience marathon are the same as before the forced break. Three illustrious breweries in the heart of Flanders – Duvel Moortgat, Bosteels Brewery and Palm & De Hoorn Brewery – will throw open their gates for runners and walkers. Participants can choose between 25 km or 42.195 km. Runners and walkers who are going ‘all the way’ and opt for the marathon distance, will be served a quiet and rural parcours that connects the three organising breweries and provinces Antwerp, East Flanders and Flemish Brabant. All parcours details will be announced soon.
What is already set is that the start and finish are by Duvel Moortgat in Breendonk and that you will be able to do tastings at the finish. Along the route, walkers can already have a few sips when visiting the breweries. The race pack of all the Great Breweries Marathon participants will also include a beer package, put together by the three organising breweries.

Even along the route, we are more than happy to give you a figurative little push at our Duvel Mile on Marselaerdreef. Together with our colleagues, we will do everything we can to make this a successful edition again and we will make sure that our brewery site is in tip-top shape to welcome everybody.”
Course details
Start and finish of the two distances - 42 195 km and 25 km - are Duvel Moortgat brewery in Puurs. Participants traverse different breweries and walk through the beautiful, rural region where Denderstreek, Pajottenland and Klein-Brabant meet. Both distances are open to both runners and walkers!

Contact us before March 1, 2022 if you are unable to attend for professional, medical or other compelling personal reasons, and you would like to request a refund of your registration fee. In that case, you fill in the refund request here and provide valid supporting documents. You must demonstrate why you cannot attend. A marriage, a planned medical procedure or a planned vacation are examples of reasons that can be accepted. After March 1, 2022, no refund can be requested
