Join Dunhuang Marathon
The inaugural Dunhuang Marathon took place on October 18, 2015. Being the first marathon in China to venture into the desert, the Dunhuang Marathon has always embraced the slogan of "bring your running shoes to travel," seamlessly combining sports and tourism. The course takes runners through Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Moon Spring, where they have the opportunity to encounter adorable desert creatures. By incorporating Dunhuang's rich history, civilization, and natural beauty into the marathon, participants can truly experience the pride of a northwest marathon.
This race was once known as "the loneliest track," as runners had only the vast Gobi Desert as their companion. It almost felt like a solitary conversation with oneself. However, amidst the competition, participants can immerse themselves in the stunning natural scenery of Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring, fully showcasing the grandeur and thousand-year-old culture of the Dunhuang Desert.
