À propos Danske Bank Vilnius Marathon

The Danske Bank Vilnius Marathon is an annual city marathon, held in Vilnius, Lithuania. First introduced in 2001 as 10k race it evolved to a classic marathon in 2004. The half marathon was introduced in 2006.

The Danske Bank Vilnius Marathon is AIMS certified since 2007. It's one of the fastest growing marathons in the Baltics and the biggest running festival in Lithuania. It doubled the number of participants in 2012 and 2013 from over 5000 runners to 10 000 runners. In 2019 the marathon counted over 11 000 participants.

Vilnius city itself is a center of attraction to the runners from all over the world -- the old-town of the city is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city preserved an impressive complex of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and classical buildings as well as its medieval layout and natural setting.

The course will start and finish at the Cathedral Square in the very heart of Vilnius. While running, the participants will admire the famous old-town as well as green parks and the riverbank of Neris.

The Vinius marathon course record of 2:21:15 was set by Richard Rotich from Kenya in 2007. The woman’s record of 2:43:13 was set by Vaida Žūsinaitė of Lithuania during the 2014 Vilnius marathon.

Join the scenic marathon along the river and through picturesque Vilnius - be the part of the history!

New running course will pass the most beautiful and distinctive places in Vilnius: this year, compared to last year, runners who chose the marathon distance will cover as many as 24.5 new kilometers that did not run last year through the most wonderful streets of Vilnius.

Thousands of runners are invited to race on September 13th in Vilnius choosing from 6 different lengths for every experience. In addition, the marathon course is now one lap, so participants will not have to repeat the route. Starting together with half marathon runners, participants will form an incredibly colorful river of runners in the green streets of Vilnius – this is the view you won't forget!

Trees in the Valakampiai and Vingis park and historical buildings in the city center will make the marathon run in the shade for more than 20k. It opens great possibilities for a fast and picturesque race.

You can pick your distance: marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k, 1k and 200m children's run.
