Japan is an Island located in East Asia just along the Pacific Ocean. Its rich cultural history combined with its amazing architecture, make it a favorite for both travelers and adventure seekers alike. For those runners who want beautiful countryside and aren’t afraid to sweat (more than average), Japan offers marathon runners a uniqueness not found anywhere else on earth.
Make your way around the city during the Tokyo Marathon, taking in the touristy sites. Or, run from the Pacific Ocean to the Japan Sea racing the Sakura Michi Nature Run. Japan, known for their well organized and very efficient marathons, has something for beginner to advanced athlete.
Many marathons are just for locals or for those who have qualifying times, which makes marathons in Japan that much more exclusive. From the Fuji Mountain Race, which runs to the summit of Volcanic Peaks, to the Mount Intake Sky Race, there is no shortage of runners' highs. Unlike anywhere on earth, Japan has some of the most uncommon courses. So, which of the marathons in Japan will inspire you?
