About Split Half Marathon

It’s not easy to run 21 km. But it’s definitely easier if you are running in surrounding that will inspire you. Number of cultural monuments of city 1700 years old, mediterranean ambience and sports heritage of "The most beautiful city in the World" how its habitants are callling it, are more then enough reason for your application.

Somewhere we’ve heard that "You are not a city if you don’t have your (half)marathon. If we think a little bit about that phrase we’ll notice there’s so much truth in it, highlighting that quality and culture of living is manifesting through such event. Confirmation of that requires years and decades of dedication and hard work on establishing this kind of modern sport tradition. City that’s proud of its famous atheletes event of this kind, at least that deserves.

From next year course of Split Half Marathon finally go out it’s original shape. We are connecting East and West, trying to involve all those seemingly neglected parts of the city. Through run, fitwalk, fun.
In organisation itself, we are also moving forward. Chip timing is finally here. Rich goody bag, start package and pasta party as special surprise will ensure every participant that Split Half is chosen as right destination for run.

If you are not sure if you can hold the pace you are interested in we are providing pacemakers for you. If you are not sure if you can even accomplish a half marathon we are providing training plan for you, that lasts from 6 to 10 weeks depending of your current condition and time you have for practising.

Split's Harbor



The course goes along the Riva, Diocletian`s Palace, Grgur from Nin, City park, toward East. The trail then continues to Poljud Stadium and Marjan Forest Park where recreation zone Bene and Oceanographic Institute are.The final stage passes by the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments and leads to the western part of the Split harbor where the last kilometer of the half marathon is run looking at the unforgettable view of Split.

Split Half Marathon Trivia

At its onset in year 2001 Split Half Marathon was constrained to the Marjan peninsula. In year 2007, start and finish were moved to the more attractive Riva. In 2015 Half Marathon finaly envelopes whole of Split, connecting all notable sporting and cultural sights across the town.

Accompanying Half Marathon two smaller races are taking place: 5km race for the general public and especially popular "Split Mile" for preschool and elementary school children.

Through its relatively short history Split Half Marathon has attracted thousands of runners from all continents to witness Split at its most celebratory, praising our patron saint St. Domnius, an event that lately also unofficially sets out tourist season.
