Milwaukee’s Lakefront Marathon, the oldest and largest marathon in Wisconsin, has been named a 2015 Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Regional Championship race. The RRCA Championship Event Series selects only best-in-class events and awards top-performing runners in varying age groups for both men and women.

The annual Lakefront Marathon, the signature event of the Badgerland Strider’s Race Club will be held in October. The point-to-point race starts in Milwaukee’s northern suburb of Grafton and winds along Lake Michigan before finishing after 26.2 miles at Veteran’s Park in Milwaukee.

The race will feature a one-day runner’s expo at the Italian Community Center. The race will also be a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Regional Championship race. The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon is the only RRCA marathon in Wisconsin, with the Badgerland Strider Ice Age Trail 50 Miler ultra-marathon also being named a regional championship.
