Bokoji is a town 144 miles (or 231km) south of Addis Ababa. It is a town of runners unlike anywhere else in Ethiopia. Situated at a high altitude of 3200 meters (10,500 feet), it’s no wonder that athletes from Bekoji such as Derartu Tulu, Kenenisa Bekele and Tirunesh Dibaba became world-famous champions.
