Our Marathon features 26.2 miles of history, beauty, scenery and loaded with miles of ocean views. The fast, flat course (except for two bridges at mile 2) is ideal for those looking to achieve Boston qualifying times. If you’re searching for the ideal international winter running event with close proximity to the US, an ocean front start and finish, affordable accommodations and an incredible family vacation destination, Marathon Bahamas is for you!
The race course was designed to showcase many of the focal points of this amazing destination including quaint and scenic downtown Nassau with it’s historic buildings, the glitz and glamour of Paradise Island, the business districts, exciting Cable Beach and the life of the residents hugging the northern shore of the Island.With the lure of a big city and the ease of tropical utopia, Nassau is considered by many, including runners – Paradise! Come join us in our12th running of the marathon, half or relay – all along the northern, picturesque shoreline.
Marathon Bahamas has been named a qualifying event for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group Championships.
Our runners hail from well over three dozen countries, just about every state in the US and province in Canada - truly international runcation in the ideal winter destination.
Course Highlights
Marathon
The marathon starts at Junkanoo Beach (west of downtown Nassau) heading east through downtown Nassau over the western Paradise Island bridge and immediately returning over the eastern Paradise Island bridge. Route continues east to Montagu Beach with a westward turn onto Shirley Street all the way to Cumberland Street north. At Bay Street, the course continues to the west, hugging the northern shores of Cable Beach, Delaporte and West Bay Street with the turnaround ¼-mile west of Compass Point returning to the most eastern entrance to Arawak Cay for an oceanfront finish.
Half Marathon
The event starts at Junkanoo Beach (west of downtown Nassau) heading east thru downtown Nassau over the western Paradise Island bridge and immediately returning over the eastern Paradise Island bridge. Route continues east to Montagu Beach with an westward turn onto Shirley Street all the way to Cumberland Street north. At Bay Street, the course continues to the west, hugging the northern shore of Cable Beach with the turnaround being the second roundabout on the new Cable Beach strip returning to the most eastern entrance to Arawak Cay for an oceanfront finish.

Services après la course
Once you cross the finish line you will receive cold bottled water, your finishers medal, go through the Runner’s Food Line for a variety of food selections and pick up your personal belongings from Baggage Drop-Off prior to enjoying your morning at the beach. The Medical Tent is conveniently located at the end of the finish line. Arawak Cay offers a great venue for all participants to reunite with family and friends, enjoy food, music, vendor displays and cheer other Marathon participants.
Limite d'âge
You must be at least 18 years of age to compete in the full marathon, and must be at least 16 years of age to compete in the half marathon.
Postes de Secours
Water and replacement supplements will be available every mile along the course starting at mile two. GU at mile 10 (half) and 16 and 22 (marathon)
Médailles
All finishers receive a unique commemorative medal. Authentic, commemorative awards, are available to the winners.

There will be a baggage check available at the starting line area.
Temps maximum
The time limit for the half marathon, marathon, and marathon relay is 6 hours. The time limit is a safety issue and applies to both runners and walkers alike. The roads on the course can only be closed for the allotted time frame.
Parking
There is ample complimentary parking available in the Ft. Charlotte area (opposite finish line) and on the side streets in the area. Marathon Bahamas strongly recommend that you arrive no later than 5:00 am to find parking as there may be some congestion in the area.

Rafraîchissements
Runners refreshments along with water and gatorade are provided at the finish line.
Chronométrage
Marathon Bahamas will use the ChampionChip timing system to accurately time the races and quickly provide day-of-race results. No other timing system device may be worn.
Transport
Round-trip or one-way transportation will be provided from a number of hotels on race morning. Tickets can be purchased at the expo.
