Join Knarvikmila - The Great Fjord Run 2026
Knarvikmila is Norway's most magnificent running event. This year, KnarvikMila takes place at the beginning September.
KnarvikMila is more than one race and more than a single distance. It is also more than a sports event. This is a week filled with cultural and sports events.

KnarvikMila was founded in 1982 by initiator and enthusiast Helge Brekke and is arranged by the athletic association FIL-AKS77. Since 1982, thousands of feet have run along roads and tracks in Knarvik for a week every autumn. In 2025, 500 volunteers worked to create a memorable event for 6000 participants.
Without a group of volunteers extending far beyond the members of the athletic association it would be impossible to pull off the event that KnarvikMila has become: a whole week of activities including a conference, concerts and trade fair.
Course details
The Half Marathon course starts and finishes at the same place inside Knarvik Stadium. The course runs on roads in Knarvik and into Brekkeløypa. In Brekkeløypa it is gravel. The rest of the course is on asphalt. There are 8 drinking stations on the course. After the finish line inside Knarvik Stadium there is water and bananas. The course is well marked and there are about 20 course guards on the course. The Red Cross will also be in place at Knarvik Stadium and on the course. The course will be car-free. NOTE! The Half Marathon is 4 laps of the 5km course. In addition, there is 1097m on the footpath towards Gjervik.
Description of the new trail:
Start at Knarvik Stadium, then run up towards Ungdomsskule and into the parking lot and onto the footpath into Juvikstølen, then out onto Lonevegen. Down Lonevegen past Knarvik Stadium and into Brekkeløypa (eastern entrance). After the round in Brekkeløypa, run out into Lonsvelen in the direction of E39. When you get to E39, the trail goes onto the footpath towards Gjervik on the left side of the footpath. After about 240m on the footpath, the trail turns and you run back on the opposite side of the footpath. At the cemetery, run onto the sidewalk over Lonsvegen and head towards Knarvik Stadium and finish. Same trail 4 times.

Start numbers can be picked up at Nordhordlandshallen. Must be picked up no later than 20 min. before the start. Start number stand in NH hall opens: Friday 6th of September - Sports expo 1600 - 2000 Saturday 7th of September - Sports expo 0930 - 1600
