It’s a ride like no other. From leafy Stanley Park, Vancouver, riders cross the iconic Lions Gate bridge to travel along the world-famous, beautiful Sea-to-Sky highway as it dips itself in the Pacific ocean before rising slowly up to the lofty perch of Whistler.
First with emerging Sunshine Coast view and then framed either side by jaw-dropping mountains, the scale is as epic as the challenge itself, taking in 1900m of total elevation by the time you smile your way across the finish line.
We fully support you the whole way with plentiful rest stops and rolling mechanics, before coming together to celebrate your achievements with one huge party in Whistler.

No – participants must come to VeloSpoke and pick up their own packages.

Yes, riders can absolutely switch between categories.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
Registration and entry fees into the RBC GranFondo Whistler are non-refundable for any reason. You can request to defer your entry for the following year's event for a fee of $100 if the request is made 6 weeks before the event. You can request to transfer your entry for the following year's event for a fee of $100 if the request is made before the close of online registration.
Can I send a bag to meet me at the finish line?
Yes, we will transport one bag for all registered riders to the finish line, approximately the same size as a personal item on airlines. Please pack all of your belongings in a bag and drop it off at VeloSpoke on Friday. Please note that due to the traffic delays on the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler on event morning, there will be no bag drop at the start line except for Alta Classe riders.
What kind of bike can I use?
We recommend a well-maintained road bike for this journey. One that has been looked over by a bike mechanic recently and that you are comfortable with riding. Make sure that your gearing is suitable for riding the hills. Some riders may be tempted to ride their mountain bike on this journey. It can be done, but it’s a harder challenge. The use of aerobars and riding in the aero-position is not allowed for the RBC GranFondo Whistler due to potential safety issues.
