When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Bib numbers will be collected one hour before the race at the same location where the event takes place.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
Changes will be permitted up to 30 days before the race. Participants changing to a larger race mode must pay the corresponding difference. Participants changing to a smaller race mode will be entitled to a refund of the registration difference until August 1. Changes in race mode will be subject to availability of places in the new race mode.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
For cancellations requested before May 31, 2025, 75% of the amount will be refunded. If the cancellation is requested between June 1 and July 15, 2025, 50% of the amount will be refunded. If the cancellation is requested between July 16 and August 30, 2025, 25% of the amount will be refunded. For requests made after September 10, cancellations will not be accepted.
What is a Backyard Ultra?
This is a competitive race on a route of approximately 6.706 km in length, with a start and finish at the same time. Each lap starts exactly 1 hour after the last lap. A warning will be given 3, 2 and 1 minutes before the start of each lap and a bell will be rung to signal the start of the next lap. The starting area will be enclosed between the start and finish arches, with enough space for all runners. The race ends after 28 laps, or 28 hours, or earlier when no rider can complete a solo lap in less than an hour. All competitors must start at the bell (no late starts). Except for relieving themselves, participants may not leave the circuit until the lap is completed. No outside help is allowed during the race, except in the refreshment area at the start and finish. Liquid supplies (water) from the first lap. Liquid refreshments (water, isotonic drinks, etc.) and solids from the 3rd lap onwards. Slower runners must allow faster runners to pass during the course.
