Africa is a runner’s paradise, and the Congo River Marathon in Kinshasa offers a truly unique experience. Now in its 6th edition, the event features a Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K Fun Run, taking participants through the vibrant neighborhoods and scenic south bank of the Congo River.
This year’s edition includes the Health & Fitness Expo on June 5–6, 2026, Pasta Night on June 6, 2026 and a festive post-race celebration with music and community spirit. Whether running for the challenge or the experience, the marathon offers an unforgettable view of Kinshasa’s culture, energy, and beauty.

Runners can support the Congo River Marathon Foundation, which backs our Runner Youth Academy, or other partner foundations, making every step meaningful.
Visa Information:
- Invitation Letter: Free from us
- Prise En Charge: Required for most visas, notarised by DGM Kinshasa (Costs: $150, 3–5 business days)
- Visa Volant (on arrival, 7 days valid): $350, available 1 month before the marathon

The 1st Africa Running Show on June 4–5, 2026 is designed for professionals working in the running and fitness industry, offering networking, insights, and business opportunities.

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
At the Health & Fitness Expo, June 5-6
How do I get to the race location?
The start line is on Blvd Tshatshi, opposite of Pullman Grand Hotel. If you stay at the hotel, you can just walk, otherwise you can take book a taxi like Yango or Carnayo through the app.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
Yes, that's possible
What are the entry requirements to visit the DR Congo?
Passport has to be at least 6 months valid. Tourist Visa for 1 month with single entry (about USD 150). Congo River Marathon will provide a confirmation letter. Yellow Fever Vaccine is mandatory to enter the country.
