The US is one of the greatest nations for marathons. Numerous of the elite marathon athletes come from America. There are so many opportunities for runners that if you took the vast number of marathons held throughout the year and spaced them out evenly, it would equal about a race a day. Some of the world’s most iconic marathons attract people from around the globe, such as the Boston and Chicago marathon, but there are many lesser-known ones that are just as spectacular.
Fun and creative races can be found nationwide. With a countryside that is so expansive and unique, the best way to take it all in is by strapping on your shoes and hitting the pavement. Whether your goal is a marathon, a half marathon or an ultra marathon, America is truly the land of opportunity.

Running laps (9) is reminiscent of racing 2 miles on a 1/4 mile track,... back in the days when a 1/4 mile race was a challenge. Flat, nice mix of asphalt and some packed dirt if release needed. Pleanty of opportunity for water, bathroom and special food treats along the way. Caution or reminder is that this race is in August even though good mix of shade and open sun exposure.
