Únete Trans-Pecos Ultra

The Big Bend is a colloquial name of a geographic region in the western part of the state of Texas in the United States along the border with Mexico, roughly defined as the counties north of the prominent northward bend in the Rio Grande as it passes through the gap between the Chisos Mountains in Texas and the Sierra Madre Oriental in Mexico. It is sometimes loosely defined as the part of Texas south of U.S. Highway 90 and west of the Pecos River. The region includes three counties in Texas: Brewster, Jeff Davis and Presidio. The region is sparsely populated, arid, and rugged, containing the Chisos and the Davis Mountain ranges. The region has more than one million acres (4,000 km²) of public lands, including Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park along the north side of the Rio Grande and hosts the annual Trans-Pecos Ultra.

Trans-Pecos Ultra is a unique and life-changing 10-day adventure featuring the only self-supported multi-stage ultra marathon in Texas. The 6-stage, 7 day foot race traverses 163 miles across Big Bend, a remote and rugged region within the high desert ecosystem of the Chihuahuan Desert, the second largest desert in North America. Join us in Far West Texas to experience ‘The Ultimate Big Bend Adventure’.

The race is run in six, consecutive stages; the total race distance is approximately 170 miles / 273km – subject to logistical changes up to 10 miles. Trans-Pecos Ultra is a self-supported, multi-stage foot race. All entrants acknowledge that the race will take place in a remote area where facilities and comforts are limited. Participants are expected to possess basic outdoor experience and all of the mandatory equipment. The race does not require any special technical skills such as navigation or rope climbing.
