Kansas Half Marathon

Join Kansas Half Marathon
Even though Lawrence was voted one of the most bike-friendly towns in the country by The League of American Cyclists, you’ll be happy to know that foot traffic is just as welcome in this unique Kansas town, which is home to more than 87,000 people here along the banks of the Kansas and Wakarusa Rivers.
With a reputation as one of the best preserved communities in America, the course for the Kansas Half Marathon should prove to be just as rich in history as it is beautiful.
The half marathon is USATF certified (Course # KS14056KH). The course takes runners through historic East Lawrence continuing on through the levee trail and north area of the city before returning to Downtown Lawrence for the finish. The 5K is a USATF certified course, too, (Course #KS15039KH).
Course highlights
The race begins right in the middle of downtown Lawrence in Watson Park, along 7th Street.
From there, runners follow an out-and-back loop route around the city, including long stretches along the Kansas River, over the river and back across the Massachusetts and Vermont Street bridges, and in and through several city parks like Burcham Park, Shaw Park, Clinton Park and Woody Park.
