Join Cursa de l’Alba 2025
The Cursa de l’Alba, beginning in Carrer Montjuïc, Collbató, Spain, features two challenging races: a 22km with 1,200 D+ ascent and a 12km with 600 D+. Both routes weave through Montserrat Natural Park, offering stunning views. The 22km race includes a grueling climb to Sant Jeroni peak, while the 12km reaches Pla de San Miquel. Competitors navigate technical descents amidst awe-inspiring rock formations before crossing the finish line.
Detalles de la ruta
The route continues towards Pont Estruc and Font de la Guineu, offering sections of trail surrounded by nature. The climb continues to the Ermita de Sant Miquel and the iconic Pas dels Francesos, approaching the equator of the test at El Cigronet. From here, the tough ascent begins to Sant Jeroni, the highest point of Montserrat, where the panoramic views reward the effort.
The route continues along the Camell de Sant Jeroni and Montgròs, combining technical sections with demanding climbs to the Balma de les Pruneres and the Coll de Port. After passing through the Refugi Vicenç Barbé and the Coll de Guirló, the route enters a phase of continuous elevation changes until reaching the Forn de calç del Castell and the Hermitage of the Mare de Déu de la Font.
In the last kilometers, the route crosses the magical Cova de les Bagasses, offering a final contact with history and nature before returning to the finish line in Collbató.
The XTerra Cursa de l'Alba is a race with a positive elevation gain of 1,200 M+. The first two kilometers of the race run through the streets of Collbató, before entering a section of road and stairs. From this point on we enter a path in the Montserrat Natural Park surrounding the massif in its middle part, in a section of slight descent until approximately kilometer 3 where a tough climb to Pla de Sant Miquel begins, from here we enter a section of wide cement track that will take us to the Montserrat Monastery. At this point, companions can arrive by car, rack railway or air to encourage the participants.
Here begins one of the hardest sections of the race, we ascend combining more than 1,200 steps with sections of path of incomparable beauty to the peak of Sant Jeroni (highest point of the massif with 1,236m). A descent on our steps of approximately 1.2km will lead us to a gentle descent of about 3km until we reach Pla de Sant Miquel again, where we will face the last very technical descent that will lead us to the finish banner.
During most of the route, because the Alba race runs through the Montserrat Natural Park, we will be able to enjoy unbeatable views of the different rock formations of this massif.
The MitjAlba is a race with a positive elevation gain of 600 M+. The first two kilometers of the race run through the streets of Collbató, before entering a stretch of road and stairs. From this point on we enter a path in the Montserrat Natural Park, surrounding the massif in its middle part in a section of slight descent until approximately kilometer 3 where a tough climb begins to Pla de Sant Miquel, the highest point of the route. From here a technical descent begins that will take us to the emblematic Taca Blanca or sheet to continue descending to the finish banner.
During most of the route, because the MitjAlba runs through the Montserrat Natural Park, we will be able to enjoy unbeatable views of the mountain.
