The Cursa de l'Alba is a race with a cumulative gradient of 1,200 D+. The first two kilometres of the race take place along the streets of Collbató, before entering a stretch of road and stairs. From this point on, we enter a path in the Montserrat Natural Park, going around the massif in its middle section in a stretch of slight descent until approximately kilometre 3 where a hard climb begins to the Pla de Sant Miquel. From here we enter a stretch of wide cement track that will take us to the Montserrat Monastery. At this point, companions can arrive by car, rack railway or air to encourage the participants.
Here begins one of the hardest sections of the race, we ascend combining more than 1,200 steps with sections of path of incomparable beauty to the peak of Sant Jeroni (highest point of the massif at 1,236m). A descent on our steps of approximately 1.2km will lead us to a gentle descent of about 3km until we reach Pla de Sant Miquel again, where we will face the last very technical descent that will lead us to the finish banner.
For most of the route, due to the fact that the Cursa de l'Alba runs through the Montserrat Natural Park, we can enjoy unbeatable views of the different rock formations of this massif.
