Run Wexford organised Wexford Town's first marathon on 7th June 2015. The course started on the boardwalk in the town centre and then looped out of the town and around the scenic hills north of the Wexford, finishing in the historic Faythe area of the town. Runners were welcomed over the finish line and presented with their medals before being invited to Whites Hotel to shower, change and have some refreshments. Over 170 runners took part in the race in 2015, many promising to return for next year's race.

Course Highlights

The route starts in the picture perfect setting of Wexford Quay, and takes you out past Johnstown Castle, Murrintown, where you have a long steady pull up over Forth Mountain, where you have stunning views over Wexford, as you decend towards Larkins Cross. From here you have a flat 5 miles through Taghmon, before a tough 1 mile climb back up over Forth Mountain, and then an 8 mile downhill right to the finish.
