EXECUTE Sälen by adidas Terrex is a relay race where participants compete in women's, men's, and mixed categories. Each team is composed of three or four runners. There are also 50 team slots available for those seeking an even greater challenge in the duo category. In total, up to 500 teams can participate. The event is held in the rugged mountain terrain of Hundfjället/Tandådalen in Sälen.
Each runner covers at least 28 kilometres with approximately 1,300 metres of elevation gain. For teams of two or three, the distance and elevation gain per person will naturally be greater. The relay race is completed on three distinct courses (Courses 1, 2, and 3), with each team required to cover each course four times, resulting in a total of twelve legs per team, regardless of the number of team members.
The race commences with a mass start at 06:00. Upon the return of the first runner, the baton is handed over to the next team member, who then embarks on Course 1. After completing four legs on Course 1, the first runner moves on to Course 2, continuing in the same pattern until the entire team finishes Course 3. The entire team must cross the finish line by 21:00.
Course details
Course 2 = approx. 14 km (510+ altitude meters)
Course 3 = approx. 5 km (310+ altitude meters)
The starting point is that all teams have four participants in their team. If your team only consists of three participants, each participant gets to run an extra course, you decide for yourself who takes which. It is also possible for one person to take all the extra rounds. For those competing in a duo, each person runs the same course twice, in the order they wish. Thus, the total amount of kilometers run lands at about 56 kilometers.
All courses start from SkiStar Lodge Hundfjället where a "Runners Village" will be built. During the day, there will be the opportunity for food and drink in the area, offers and service from sponsors, to follow your teammates via the scoreboard and to socialize with all the other runners. A great atmosphere and a good hang are promised!
When all the runners have crossed the finish line and the race is over, those who wish to buy for it are invited to a "Runners Dinner". The award ceremony will also take place here, and great prizes await the top three in each class. Tickets for the Runners Dinner will be released later.
