The Nieuwpoort Swim is one of the only open water swimming competitions in Belgium. The start is at the Old Fish Market and you swim towards the entrance of the largest marina in Northern Europe. As the start of the Long Course Weekend you swim against an international field of participants over 1.9km or 3.8km. Despite the sea water you swim in calm water because of the protection against the current of the channel and the spectators can also walk along the entire course. In the shadow of the West Front monument and with the finish on the Long Course Weekend festival grounds, this will undoubtedly be a race to remember.

Absolutely everything you need to know about the Long Course Weekend will be communicated a few weeks before the event via e-mail. This will include event timings. It is important to carefully read through this information as details may be different to those on the website. What is the cancelation/refund policy for this event?

This will depend on the temperature of the water on the day. If possible, you can swim without a wetsuit.
