Sandras Adventure Trail

Sandras Adventure Trail is an event that brings together trail running enthusiasts in the unique natural landscape of Köyceğiz, a tranquil district in Muğla, Turkiye. The event is designed to showcase the region’s rich history and breathtaking scenery, including the ancient city of Kaunos, the famous King's Rock Tombs, Köyceğiz Lake, İztuzu Beach, Yuvarlakçay River, and the imposing Sandras Mountain. While the initial plan included cycling and adventure races, only trail running races will take place for the first edition due to recent changes in the route following a regional fire. Running events include multi-stage races suited for experienced trail runners as well as a single-stage short course for beginners. The courses take participants through historic and natural sites, with the Saturday race starting and finishing at Kaunos and the Sunday routes finishing at Köyceğiz Lake. Demo events for mountain biking and adventure racing will also be held, with opportunities to test those routes. Köyceğiz, noted as one of Turkiye’s Cittaslow towns, offers a peaceful setting, making it an ideal location for outdoor sports. The event highlights local geography and culture while promoting adventure and nature tourism.
